Who we are

Channel Maven is a channel advisory firm based in Boulder, Colorado, working with technology companies that sell through partners. This policy covers channelmaven.com, including the client portal. It does not cover other websites we link to, which have their own policies.

Information you give us

When you fill in the contact form, we collect the information you enter:

• Your first and last name
• Your work email address
• Your company
• What you are interested in
• Whatever you write in the message field

If you are a client with a portal account, we also hold the account itself and the documents shared with you there.

If you use the assistant on the site, your questions are processed so it can answer them.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we collect some information as you browse: the pages you visit, the site that referred you, and general technical details such as browser type and approximate location derived from your IP address. This is used to understand how the site is used, not to identify you personally.

Cookies

We use cookies for analytics, so we can see which pages are useful and where visitors come from. These are set by HubSpot and are named __hstc, hubspotutk, __hssrc and __hssc. They do not collect the contents of anything you type.

The client portal uses a cookie to keep you signed in. That one is necessary for the portal to work.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though the portal will not keep you signed in.

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell personal information.

How we use information

We use what we collect to:

• Respond to enquiries and provide the services you ask about
• Deliver and support the client portal
• Understand how the site is used and improve it
• Keep the site secure and prevent abuse
• Meet our legal and accounting obligations

We do not use the contact form to add you to a marketing list without your agreement.

Who we share it with

We share personal information with service providers who help us run the site and our business, and only so far as they need it to do that work. These include our hosting and database provider, our content delivery provider, our analytics provider and the provider behind the site assistant. They are bound to protect the information and may not use it for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety or property.

We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond and to keep a record of our dealings with you, and client portal information for the life of the engagement and a reasonable period afterwards. When information is no longer needed we delete it.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also ask us to stop sending you anything. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to object to certain processing and the right to complain to a regulator.

To make a request, email us using the address on the contact page. We may need to confirm who you are before we act.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls on the portal, and limiting access to those who need it. No website can promise perfect security, but we treat this seriously and act quickly if something goes wrong.

International transfers

We are based in the United States and our providers may process information there or in other countries. Where information is transferred out of the region it was collected in, we rely on the safeguards our providers have in place.

Children

This site is for business use and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear rather than slipped in quietly.
